TEXTING ‘R’ TALKING – CHOOSE WITH TOASTMASTERS
Communication has changed dramatically in recent years. The advent of texting has meant that words can now be abbreviated and shortened when expressing our ideas.
Talking is not as important a part of communications as it once was – or is it? Texting has replaced talking in some situations but that is not necessarily a good thing. Both methods get our message across but do they do it effectively?
Toastmasters give you the opportunity to express your ideas – at your own pace and in your own time. You can decide when and what you talk about.
Topics are always entertaining and enlightening as you can express your opinion among friends. You get the opportunity to try all forms of communication in a friendly environment. You will talk, listen, express your ideas with creativity – but more importantly you will have fun. Gorey Toastmasters meet twice a month on alternate Wednesdays in the Loch gCarman Arms.
To see why talking is still better than texting why not drop in to our meeting today (Wednesday) to see what it is all about. Guests are always welcome free of charge – have a cup of tea or coffee and see why it is still good to talk with us. Contact Joe on 087 9159111 or Brendan on 087 4127993 to find out more.
