Gorey Central School
The children of Gorey Central School will take part in a play entitled ‘Just My Luck’ with all proceeds going towards the school.
The show will take place on June 3 and 6 in Kilanerin Hall at 7.30pm on each night.
Tickets are available from the school on 053-9421745. All are welcome and a great night is in store.
Songs of Praise
On Sunday, May 30 at 8pm in Gorey Methodist Church Songs of Praise will be led by The Walk of Emmaus Praise and Testimony Group. All are welcome and refreshments will be served afterwards.
Gorey Show
The annual Gorey Show will take place on June 19 in its new home in Clonattin, Gorey.
This year’s show will have all the usual show classes for horses, sheep and cattle. The Arts and Crafts and Indoor Competitions will take place on the day.
There will also be horse and pony jumping and carriage driving. But the big attraction of the Show this year is its “Family Day Out” theme.
The day’s actives include dog show, birds of prey display, pet’s corner, farmyard animals, blacksmith forge display, vintage show, horseshoe competition, live music and dancing on stage and a display by American cheerleaders.
Especially for the kids we have amusements, puppet and magic show and bungee trampoline. For the ladies we have a Best Dressed Ladies Competition sponsored by Ruby Rouge.
There will be a large selection of trade stands on site – so why not come along and support your local business.
There will be full bar and a seated catering tent, so why not come up for lunch?

Gorey Central School PTA would like to thank Courtown Hibs for the use of their pitch for soccer training and for their soccer tournament this Friday at 10am.
Kiddies disco
A kiddies disco will be held in the Loch Garman Arms on Saturday next, May 29.
All proceeds will go to SOFT Ireland which is a charity which supports families of children with Edwards Syndrome and Pataus Syndrome.
The Fancy Dress Disco will take place between 2pm and 4pm for children aged seven and under who have to be accompanied by an adult. Entry is €5 per child.
Gorey Rangers Schoolboys Soccer
The Academy training for the tiny tots section has finished now until the new season resumes.
A medal presentation night will take place in the Naomh Eanna Complex, Clonattin on Saturday, June 12 from 7.30pm and all members are welcome.
The AGM will be held on June 17 at 8pm again in the Loch Garman Arms and all are welcome to attend.
Registration and a family fun day will be held on June 19 from 10.30am in the Showgrounds at Fort Road which will include a BBQ, bouncy castle and junior soccer blitz.
Crannóg na Leanaí
Crannóg na Leanaí, which is a Steiner Kindergarten and parent and toddler group, is based in Kiltennel, Ballymoney and the ECCE approved centre is holding an Open Day on Saturday, May 29 between 2pm and 4pm. This is a non-profit making community-based preschool and all are welcome.
NWSPCA Lotto
The winning numbers for the May running of the North Wexford Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals monthly fundraising lotto draw are 10, 11, 13 and 21.
There was no winner of the €2,350 jackpot and three tickets were pulled out in the lucky dip draw, these winners were Councillor Robbie Ireton, Jenny’s dog Molly and Liz’s dogs Thelma & Louise, each received €15.
Next month’s jackpot increases to €2,400 and the draw will be held on Monday June 14th.
The Society is looking for additional ticket sellers, if you can help, contact their emergency response number on 087-6392531 to be included.
St Aidan’s Lotto
St. Aidan’s Services have just launched a new Lotto with a jackpot of €2,000.
Tickets cost €2 each and are available from various shops and businesses around Gorey.
The first draw will be made on Friday, May 28 in the Amber Springs.
High Kings Concert
The High Kings are coming to the Amber Springs Hotel in Gorey on Saturday, May 29.
Tickets cost €30 and all money raised will go towards St. Aidan’s Services.
Tickets are available on TicketsIreland.ie (1890 305 305) as well as Jack Dunnes, Whites for Music in Gorey, Ice Menswear and in the Amber Springs.
Tag Rugby
Why not keep fit over the summer as Gorey RFC’s Summer Tag continues at their grounds in Clonattin each Wednesday night at 7.30pm. All welcome.

The Astro turf pitches and clubhouse are now available for hire for parties and events and all calls regarding times and cost can be made to the above number.
Gorey Active Retired
Bealtaine Festival: The final of the Bowling Competition was between Craanford and Dundrum and our congratulations to Craanford on winning by 15 12.
The bowling competition throughout was conducted in a friendly and good-spirited atmosphere. Congratulations also to the Talent competition winners Sean and Gerry O’Callaghan.
Our thanks to all the people to took part in the event. We wish to thank the local businesses who donated prizes for our raffles. A Table Quiz will take place on June 10 from 8.30pm in the Loch Garman Arms. Tables of four will cost €20 and it will be open to non-members.
