Collection Thanks
The Gorey Heartsafe Group held a street collection on Thursday and Friday last week and they collected €1311.
They would like to thank everyone who collected and everyone who donated.
Parish Sale
A Parish Sale will take place in Leskinfere Parish Hall (Clough), which is three miles south of Gorey on the old N11 on Tuesday, July 6.
As well as home baking, jams, books, toys, household items, fashion (good-as-new) and Bric-a-brac on sale there will be raffles, auctions, facepainting, mini golf and bouncy castle. Teas and refreshments will be served with admission €3 and €1 for children.
Gorey Rangers
The AGM of Gorey Rangers will take place on July 7 in Paddy Blues from 7.30pm and all are welcome.
Summer Camp
The FAI Summer School Soccer camp at Gorey Celtic’s ground in Mullaufin will be taking place between August 2 and 6 (Mainstream Camp) and Goalkeeping camp on August 16 and 17.

Gorey Skate Club
Gorey Skate Club presents the Summer Skate Skool 2010. Running all summer long, skateboarding lessons for beginner and intermediate skaters are given in the south east’s only skate park.
Lessons are on a Saturday morning and all equipment and safety gear is provided. So, if you’re six or over and want to improve your skating, please get in touch at www.goreyskateclub.com.
Coffee Day
A coffee day in aid of the Hope Cancer Support Centre in Enniscorthy will take place in Castle Delights, Kilmuckridge on Friday, July 16 from 12pm to 7pm. Tickets for the event are available locally or you can call Ann-Marie on 086-8581188.
Brownes’ Skittles
The summer Skittles competition will begin in Brownes’ Lounge on Monday, July 5 and entry forms need to be returned by June 30 with a fee of €25 per team. There will be ladies and gents divisions and all are welcome.
Soldiers of Skate
The Gorey Skate Club will be hosting their Soldiers of Skate championships on Saturday July 17 in the skate park in Gorey Showground which will see three different age categories, street and bowl competitions, a barbeque, refreshments, music and a whole lot more.
Sold out
The PJ Gallagher gig in Gorey Comedy Club at the Loch Garman Arms on July 2 has sold out in a record time of just five days and no further tickets will be available. The new website for the comedy club will also be announced on the night.
St. Aidan’s AGM
St. Aidan’s Day Care Centre will be holding their Annual General Meeting in the canteen at St. Aidan’s, Millands, Gorey on Thursday, August 5 at 7.30pm. Tea and Coffee will be served afterwards and the minutes of the 2009 AGM will be available at St. Aidan’s reception from July 28.
Gorey Celtic
The Gorey Celtic Schoolboys AGM will be held on June 30 at the clubhouse at 7pm. All are asked to attend.
Badminton Club
Gorey Badminton Club are now running a Summer Club, every Wednesday from 8pm to 10pm in the Naomh Eanna GAA Club in Clonattin.

Gorey Musical Society
The Gorey Musical Society will put on their summer show Drama at Inish every Tuesday and Thursday evening during July and August at 8.30pm. Tickets will be available at the door.
St Aidan’s Lotto
St. Aidan’s Services have just launched a new Lotto with a jackpot of €2,000. Tickets cost €2 each and are available from various shops and businesses around Gorey.
Tag Rugby
Why not keep fit over the summer as Gorey RFC’s Summer Tag continues at their grounds in Clonattin each Wednesday night at 7.30pm. All welcome.
Meals on Wheels
The Gorey Community Social Services Council is seeking additional volunteer drivers for their Meals-onWheels service on Thursdays.
All deliveries are on a voluntary basis with people using their own cars.
The service is helping support the elderly in our community and is assisting in people retaining their independence and the ability to stay living in our community.
Can you afford approximately an hour a fortnight from twelve noon to one o’clock on a Thursday? If you can please contact the Gorey Community Social Services Council at 0876392539.
Suicide or Survive
SOS is a registered Irish Charity that works to reduce the incidence of suicide in Ireland and challenge the stigma around mental health.

Monster Céilí
A Monster Céilí in aid of St. Aidan’s Services will be held on Sunday July 4 between 5pm and 8pm in the Naomh Éanna GAA complex.
Admission is €5.

The Gorey Celtic end of season Presentation Night will be held on Friday next, July 2 in the Amber Springs at 8pm with tickets costing €5.
The Gorey Celtic Schoolboys AGM will be held tonight, June 20 at the clubhouse at 7pm and all are asked to attend.
Gorey Active Retired
• Booking for Mystery Tour on August 25 now open. Price to be finalised this week with bus leaving at 10.30am from Ashdown Park Hotel.
• Bowling takes place on Mondays between 11am and 1pm in the Badminton Hall.
• Go for Life on Tuesdays between 11am and 12pm and Whist takes place between 12pm and 1pm in the Ashdown Park Hotel.
•Walk in the Courtown wood area on Wednesdays: Meet at the Forest Park at 11am. Coffee and chat at Taravie Hotel afterwards.
• July Day Trip to Kilmore Quay Seafood Festival on July 10. Cost €23. The bus leaving the Ashdown Park at 11am sharp. Book with Frances or Anne at the Loch Garman Arms on Fridays between 11am and 12.30pm.
