‘Project 101’ for Culture Night

SUCH WAS the buzz in the arts community after the three sell-out performances of ‘Project 101’ at Redmond Memorial Park, Wexford, recently that the Culture Night organising Committee has asked Myriad to reinvent parts of this show for the annual Culture Night celebrations on Friday, September 24th.

This is a welcome opportunity for Wexford and visiting audiences who did not get a chance to see this wonderful colourful nighttime outdoor dance show in early July, to enjoy the thrill of dance theatre outdoors with nature and landscape of Wexford providing the back drop and set.

Katherine Mythen of the Wexford Borough Council has described the concept and the performances of Project 101 as fantastic.

This massive dance project features the dance and music work of 101 participants, involving all Myriad Dance classes as well as its professional company.

It also showcases work that artistic director, Deirdre Grant did with guest groups from Buí Bolg Youth Theatre , the Co. Wexford Youth Orchestra and the Enniscorthy Dance Academy and recorded memories from elderly groups from St. Brigid’s Day Care Centre and Liam Mellows Ladies’ Group.
